How do I prepare for interviews?

There are many things you should do before interviewing for a job, such as:

  • Find business clothes to wear (a collared shirt and tie for men and a modest dress or business blouse for women, perhaps).
  • Research the company or organization where you are interviewing. This might include a few hours of research on the Internet or researching current employees on LinkedIn.
  • Gather materials for your portfolio. You should compile past work, such as written work, original recipes, photos of dishes you have created and more in order to have something ready to show the interviewer during your interview. This will allow you to reference something concrete and may even help guide your answers.
  • Write down answers to questions that you think interviewers might ask, and practice reciting a few answers out loud before the interview.
  • Participate in a mock interview. Our career services department can set you up with someone who will help you answer practice interview questions.

These are only some of our interview preparation tips. To find more, explore our interview resources.
