Role at The Chef's Academy

Ryan McGuire came to The Chef’s Academy at Harrison College in Raleigh in 2013, filling the position of instructor in culinary arts. After teaching classes such as CA1000, CA1200, CA1300, CA2500 and CA2600, McGuire has settled into his role. He has come to discover why The Chef’s Academy makes a difference in students’ lives: the personal attention that instructors give to students. Every day, McGuire is proud to say that he gets to help students succeed. 

Professional History

McGuire began his culinary career as a line cook at Giorgio’s of Gramercy and quickly gained more experience working with Bobby Flay and others in positions such as:

  • Chef – Mesa Grill
  • Chef – CBS Morning Show
  • Sous Chef – Blue Smoke
  • Executive Chef – Chartwells for the Child Nutrition department of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools
