Role at The Chef's Academy

Mitch Samples arrived at The Chef’s Academy at Harrison College in Raleigh in 2012 and became an integral member of the team. Samples not only works as an instructor, but he is also charged with purchasing food and supplies that keep the kitchens and classrooms running smoothly. He enjoys watching students gain confidence as they move along in their academic and professional lives. This attitude, he says, pervades the atmosphere at The Chef’s Academy because faculty and staff members take a personal interest in the lives and well-being of all students. Aside from serving students, Samples’ greatest accomplishment at The Chef’s Academy is incorporating the composting program into the curriculum, significantly reducing the waste generated on campus.

With over 25 years of experience in the culinary field, Samples has jade his way through the ranks from dishwasher to sous chef. His resume includes:
